"Time To Be Happy" – A Song About Letting Go and Growing Up 🎈💫👣🎤

Hello beautiful humans! 💫

It’s that time again — and I can barely believe it myself…Today, I’m releasing my 52nd song in the #OneSongAMonth project that’s been running strong for 4 years straight! 💥

This month’s release is a soulful little gem called "Time To Be Happy" — and it came to me, as so many of my songs do, during a quiet walk in the forest. 🌲✨No planning, no agenda — just me letting the inspiration flow and seeing what genre the song wants to be.

Turns out… it’s a funk-soul-blues feel-good anthem with a twist of Flamenco. 🎶💃

🎧 About the Song

This is one of those songs that felt like it wrote me, not the other way around.It’s about the bittersweet truth of life: that we can give advice, but real understanding comes through experience.It’s also a little personal reflection, now that my son is 19 and stepping into his own life.Sometimes, love means letting go. 💛

I play all the instruments myself — except for the guitar. And what a guitar it is!The funky, soulful, flamenco-tinged lines are played by my brilliant partner, Francisco De Silvestri, who brings so much heart and heat to the track. 🔥🎸

As always, I’ve written, recorded, mixed, and mastered the song myself — and this one might be my most playful vocal production yet.

🎙️ Vocal Nerd Corner (aka: I geeked out hard)

This month I used three Shure podcast mics for all my backing vocals (yes, the same ones you’ll see in the music video!) — and they gave the choirs a rich, focused sound I just love.

For lead vocals, I finally got to dive deep with my new UAD Sphere LX microphone.It’s a magical mic that lets me virtually change mic models after recording. I paired it with UAD’s Ocean Way plugins and experimented with polar patterns — and it gave me a sound that feels both vintage and modern. 🎤💫

🎬 The Music Video: A YouTube Podcast Parody (With Conspiracies!)

I had a blast making the video this time — and tried something totally new:A YouTube-podcast-meets-parody-meets-conspiracy-theory concept. 😄🎥

I filmed myself in three different characters, green-screened around a desk with mics, then spliced in hilarious cameos from my fabulous friends and artist colleagues Mizzy Crown (Kimtina Malmcrona) and Nadja Itäsaari — who absolutely shine with humor and stardust.

It’s chaotic in the best way, and I hope it gives you a smile.
